Figured I would start this one since SCRIM discussions don't seem to have a home.

Obviously, it was a bad scrim today for a few different reasons. I'll be sure to slow down the energy accumulation for next time, and hopefully we won't have another communication failure (or whatever happened on the other team...I'd kind of like to know what exactly went wrong, actually).

Anyways, here's the SS for scrim #5 with rob replacing 3cell after he had to leave:

    TIA? Hmmmmm

It sounds intriguing....but bunkers and the proto and energy sites sort of play an important part in our teamwork practice and communication.

TIA is more for just aiming practice, right?

Hrmm i suppose so. I was just trying to think of something that would force us to actually play as a team, but that was kind of a fail idea.
Maybe a new map or something or just leave the energy alone. I don't know Mesa just seems really big for our purposes... know what i mean?

I do know what you mean.

We can play Mesa but we have to remember that war factories are pointless.

    no communication failure.
When one team had 100% energy in like 5min it was able to turn proto area into a fortress. So we decided just to concentrate on getting war fact which was almost impossible b/c snipers were covering the place (apart from getting ass kicked by double pistols)

Calling the proto a fortress means that roginia, pointy, and pointer must have been working well together as they were our team's designated E3 bunker/proto-defenders. :)

How about if you put energy intake at a shit ton more for just one energy site (the one behind proto.) And we can only use that one and the proto area.
It would provide a smaller play area and help increase rate of the battle. Just a thought.

I do think we had a communications failure.
At the outset, the NK base is a bit farther away and 3 of our team were supposed to bee-line it for the proto/E3 while 2 of us planned to canvas the energy sites..
Instead they split up somehow, some to energy, some to proto etc.
This left us with no resistance at proto, and no bunker.

From there it was uphill all the way.

I think we should be trying to nuke the base, or at least try some scrims with that as the goal.

So even if one team gets 100% energy, the incentive is to make a run for the enemy base and not just hold proto.

This would mean we could keep the energy accumulatiion as is.

It would also open up other team tactics, like how to support the TAC tank movement and for the enemy how to work togethr to take it out.

It may require some allowance for an opposing tank to defend the base once a TAC has been built.. (limit 1?)

I like Felix's idea going for a tac tank it would be worth a try. Other than that i think Mesa is to large for so few players, maybe a smaller map other than refinery or frost.

having two squads and two squad leaders per team would make organization and leadership easier.
    Just a thought.

@ Verrater - I'm sure it's possible to change energy accumulation of specific energy sites, but I'd rather just play a smaller map before going through that trouble. Also, team captains don't necessarily have to be that team's "leader". As long as everyone on the team is on the same page, I don't think designated leaders are really necessary.

@ Felix - I also would like to try some weekly nuking. I'll continue to tweak energy accumulation until it feels right for a one hour game and I'll be sure to return TAC prices and player requirements to default values for scrims.

@ Wardy - Get with the program. You better be at the next scrim!
