my mic broke and i need a new one, sadly i don't want a g35 or g930 since they're USB and i have a good soundcard. USB headsets have their own sound card inside, so if you were to buy an XiFi titanium (or any other) soundcard it would not be used with a usb headset.

The USB is used to power the amplifier in any good headset. If it's true 5+ channel sound from your sound card that you're after, then Turtle Beach and Tritton are the only companies to consider. Recently, Razer introduced the "Razer Tiamat 7.1" which looks fucking awesome but I don't think it's out yet.
It is true that some headsets override your sound card via built-in hardware, but that hardware is necessary to simulate surround sound. In other words, the G35 is out on the basis that it uses simulated virtual surround sound, not on the basis that is uses a USB plug.
p.s. I think sound cards have been obsolete since the 90's...equally good 7.1 channel sound is pretty standard on motherboards now.
p.s.s. Also be aware that some headsets claim to feature true surround because they have more than 2 speakers, but they may still be virtual surround. Having 5 3.5 mm jacks is an indication that the headset truly features real surround sound.

they give you a free tshirt and flask just for adding your name to the notify list. that is a long time to wait though, and my experience with razer products hasn't been that great.

thats true. My Razer Black Widow keyboard is the 3rd one after I returned the other ones b/c the spacebar does not work anymore after a short time. And now it looks like the "new" one will give up soon again for the same reason

yeah the same thing happened to me with my Razer Tarantula keyboard, i'm just surprised because yours is a mechanical keyboard and that almost never happens.

I have a G35 headset and it sounds fucking epic, 7.1 surround sound!! And yes evil I know you have a bunch of tiny speakers compressed into that thing you call a headset, but one speaker can resemble many due to improvments in sound codes and what not. My headset sounds perfectly seamless when footsteps transition around my point of sound perception. http://www.audioreview.com/cat/amplificat…33_2718crx.aspx This is my home reciever I had since I was under 18 so I know a thing or two about sound, also My reciever came with this- http://www.audio-ideas.com/backiss/winter…s_sh-a500d.html and just to take things a step further I also have this beast- http://products.howstuffworks.com/jbl-venue-seri…ofer-review.htm I also used fiber optics for my sound signals to and from the reciever and sound proccesor.

Oh, i already bought Audio Technica A700s http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica…s/dp/B000E9VKUQ . They sound awesome, but they need to be driven by an amp (which i currently don't have).
