Gonna make some changes to the server so console faggots don't have auto-aim, so I'll need to hook a controller up to see if the aim assist goes away. Arborist, is this what I need to use a wireless 360 controller? http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-…c/dp/B000HZFCT2

Yeah thats what we have, I spoke to a few modding people and they think it is not possible to turn off the aim assist server side only the client can :(

Thanks Arb. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't be able to adjust the auto-aim settings server side, as there are just a few cvars relating to auto-aim:

    Code
    aim_assistAimEnabled
    aim_assistAutoCoeff
    aim_assistCrosshairDebug
    aim_assistCrosshairSize
    aim_assistMaxDistance
    aim_assistRestrictionTimeout
    aim_assistSearchBox
    aim_assistSingleCoeff
    aim_assistSnapDistance
    aim_assistTriggerEnabled
    aim_assistVerticalScale
    Display More

By default, aim_assistAutoCoeff is at 0.5 on all Crysis servers. Making it zero is possible. We'll find out for sure once I get a controller hooked up.

We played with the settings last night and icomrade confirmed that there was a noticeable difference. I'd assume it's possible to turn it up, but I'm sure there is some range that the value must be between.

    "aim assist"...

Is there a "klick left mouse button assist" included in the next patch? Does it come along with the "nade assist"? And when u get the "W,A,S,D assist" you can sit back, relax and watch your computer play multiplayer

I have an xbox360 controller for racing games. Tried it on PC and yes, there is aim assist. It is sad that console is so inferior it needs an aimbot.

Anyway, once word of this gets out, it might ruin our credibility. Maybe set it to 0.1 so that we don't catch sh*t for it?

Every Crysis server has it enabled by default. After trying it today, I can assure you that controller users would be at a disadvantage no matter how much aim assist they had.

If you were to practice with this enough, you could probably get really good at aimbotting. I am terrible at using a controller.
Made a few videos aimbotting with icomrade who also was using a controller:

Its alien to you is the problem all that mouse keyboard muscle memory you have to re program to use a controller, i'm sure though with enough time you could use the aim assist as an advantage, wether this out weighs the negatives is whats in question! Personally i think it should just be a fair playing field.

I forgot to mention that I'm going to be returning the controller...I have no desire to practice with such an inferior, childish piece of hardware.
