Yea, he just will not believe me until the day he actually gets a decent power supply. A simple Corsair 650 watt PSU will solve about 99-100% of his problems.

i have a sapphire and its great it's the vapor-x oc 5870, over clocked card may have somewhat better quality components. to be honest i would go with a sapphire vapor-x card because of low temperatures, and they are quite, also they use better mosfets, check their website out. warranty is not an issue at all, ive replaced a card i bought broken and they replaced it with no hassle.

XFX has the best warranty. Also, I can attest for good customer service, as they replaced my 9600gt with a 9800gt for free.

if a company does't have the specific card model in stock for replacing your broken one, they will usually replace it with the next highest model up. same with most other products, if i send my droid in for replacement i will get a droid 2.

@200 watts and 10 minutes your 400watt PSU is shouting "I've hit the wall please don't hurt me".
@375 watts and 10 minutes your 400watt PSU is screaming bloody murder and in pain.

@375 watts and 10 minutes a Corsair 650 watt PSU is barely breaking a sweat.

Why would you buy a PSU from XFX ??? They are probably just private labeling another mfg's anyways and charging you extra for it.
Stick with a top brand, 80 plus certified, and as stated elsewhere in this thread try to hit your expected load right in the sweetspot of 40-60% capacity.

Check Anandtech, Tom's etc. for PSU tests.
