Beta I only have the AMD overdrive utility to check system temps, and its saying my cpu is errrr 85-90c  where as ginias is running at 33.5 with her dual 550, my processor is a qaud 955 its been running like this for months now, and only recently have i had a problem with blue screen due to the high temps especially now its all dusty in therei guess.

Maybe i need to start a thread i'll call it - Help me i'm a pc retard-

Now i need to go think about cooling my pc before it goes nuclear, i'll invest in a new aircooler and give the old girl a good clean.

Just get one of the coolers i've mentioned, make sure you have just enough positive pressure in your case to keep dust out. Those coolers don't come with fans btw. you could pick up a scythe ultra kaze lol but i fear that would be way to loud. Any questions you have you can ask me via xfire or ts.

Dude, even with the best air cooler in the world, you still need to download those applications before you overclock. Can't overclock without the appropriate tools. It like trying to fix a car without tools.

He's not overclocking, he is trying to get his stock clock temps down.
You can't overclock if your temps are already exceeding the maximum threshold for the chip.

I think there may be some confusion here. Terror is trying to overclock. Arborist was the one who mentioned some high temperatures on his PC, to which I recommended the cheap CPU cooler.

@Arb- let us know if you make any progress on Ginia's machine.

And Mike, if you do find some overclocking headroom available on that chip, you'll need some benchmarking programs to see how much it helped. As far as synthetic benchmarks go, 3dmark '06 is probably among the most popular. And if you want some real world results that pertain to the games you're interested in, you might want to check out the Crysis Warhead benchmark (Google them once you've settled on a stable overclock).

I never did post it so here is it. If you want to know the specs just ask. I find it ironic that I have a motherboard made for overclocking and I don't do it. Also the desk has had the same shit on the shelf for about 12 years so fuck off lol.

If you install a shelf on top, there's enough room to store your hot drinks in winter.

btw, I'd say nice cable management, but I can't find any cables.

If that rig were something special, I'd understand why you keep posting it.

Half the people in this tiny forum have machines that are more powerful.

    -F for effort. :P

You might want to do something with all them cables. Zip ties will be an easy -C.

Some are zp tied there is just no easy place to put them lol. I'm going to have to mess with it. Especially if I get a new heatsink.
