So you do have an i7. In that case, I'm sure you know you've got a big time GPU bottle neck in that 4870, which I suppose is a good thing because you'd see a big increase in frame rate with a bit of cash into a new video card.

yeah, I have been researching the 570 vs. the 6950/70.....but am going to wait to see what Crysis 2 is running like on people's systems and prices to come down.
I am even tempted to wait 1 more generation of cards.

The 4870 is still getting me by pretty well in DX9. Until a game really takes advantage of DX11 I think being a late adopter is going to pay dividends.

i share the same case with you, i see you mounted the front intake fan on the top, lol. great case, i have never been able to clean the metal mesh out completely.

Actually I still have the front intake fan blowing across the harddrives. I ditched the stock fans for quieter ones in fact.

The case is a bit more "mesh" than I expected so my airflow design is noisier in the end than I expected. But overall pretty happy with it.

Right. Added some specs to opening post.

If you are having trouble joining a friend's game or other servers, or just as good maintenance, you need to update your game.
The Major updates appear to be automatic, but many others do not update just by starting the game.

Find your battlefield directory and the the BFBC2UPDATER.exe run that and you can see how far behind your version is or isn't and update of course.

I can now join friends on servers again.

Current version (which you can see on the lower right of the startup screen, or when you run the updater, is something like 589035.

The Vietnam missions should start with bailing out the French and then the first air cavalry mission from We Were Soldiers!

What class gets the flamethower!!! ?? 8O

Anti Strafe Jumping.............but Pro Tyson.

super punch out gets my vote.

Good to know Beta, thanks! one thing the 6000 series from ATI will do is bring a price drop to the 460's. Might be some good deals!

Something happened, I can no longer set AA above 1x ??? Running in DX9 mode Evil since we talked, could that be restricting my AA options??

I think this game was designed with consoles in mind so it doesn't bring dedicated GPU cards down nearly as much as Crysis.
I run a 4870 1GB at 1920 x 1200 all on high and its very very playable. (I should check my FPS sometime and will post)

never forget cooling ..........I run my GPU fan at 85% when I am hardcore gaming. If I leave it on auto.....Crysis stutters and have had BFBC2 crash.....dialed up, stays below 65C and is solid as a rock.

Still need some help with TS. updated to the latest client but still unable to connect....
And I keep getting kicked from Amsterdam, despite pb_security 0 in the console..........

I need my fix after 2 weeks away.

Holy Crap that's awesome! Good luck mate!
Maybe we can get an Archery mod in Crysis to keep your skills at their peak.

Do you want to do a war against the team =TFFS= today at 20H00 ?

=TFFS= VS OSF! 3-3 or 4-4

our forums : http://tffs.xooit.fr/portal.php

thanks for future answer.

Salut, vous etes Francais, ou Suisse peut etre? In general we need about a week to prepare and see who is availalble. If you are only a european clan, probably best to organize this with our European members. Look for Ripley on the !OSF Mesa server. Sounds like fun.

At one point near the end, I think the NK team got within 2 or 3 in energy and certainly made my team's heart rate go up a bit.

I agree It was intense and a good close game. The screenshot is a nice example of how k/d means nothing in a game with an objective.

Observation two, it randomly ended up being low ping vs. high on average. But not sure who gets the ultimate advantage there!!

Entirely possible it was PB. will drop it then. thxs.
