Yeah, we miss you visk. I hope the bar results are what you want them to be.
Good luck moving and have fun camping. Let us know how it goes.

Populating the OSF server should be our primary goal. The new members will then join.
Playing in different maps is an option, but is a subject for another thread.

Ok well, I was looking for a big ass explosion, but this is actually kinda cool too.

Good idea. We're donating to TankTop, as he is the one hosting everything for us.

First of all, the basis of letting people in has always been on maturity, not skill.
I like your idea and appreciate the effort, but I think there are other issues that should be dealt with first. It shouldn't be a surprise to hear that a popular game server is what allows for growth and success. This means that we first need to work on simply playing in the OSF server, and making OSF look good while doing so. This means that you shouldn't act like an ass while wearing OSF tags.
We can get a lot more out of simply administrating a good popular server than we could out of making it our goal to recruit masses of players who might end up being assholes anyways.
As a side note, I am beginning to believe more and more that 24/7 Mesa was CoP's downfall. I like Mesa, don't get me wrong, but I am constantly hearing from other players about how they like and get along with our admins (most of you guys that are reading this) but hate Mesa.
I think we can expand and become a more diverse group if we play some other maps (no, they don't have to be kiddy counter-strike-style IA maps).
So Gamp, yes I also believe that our number of members and amount of participation is becoming a real issue, but I don't completely agree with your proposed method of addressing the problem.
-
Yeah Gamp, on closer inspection, you really did look like a chipmunk...or like a baby John McCain maybe?
-
Thanks, that was very informative.

I LOVE the slowskys! Holy crap, thank you comrade for showing me those two commercials; I haven't seen either of those two before!!!
The first one on this page is one of my favorites:

Bill cracks me up.

Water World? I liked that movie. The critics didn't know what they were talking about.

I think this is what Gamp looks like:

Yeah, I was talking to Pointer in-game, but it was too difficult to converse while helis were rocketing me, so I told him to come here if he had anymore questions. I told him that his thread was in our forum and we all agreed that it'd be ok if he joined. He seemed to understand. I told him to just type a message in here letting us know that he still wants to join.
I explained that he'll need to download TS and be able to speak English well enough to be of value to the rest of the team. I think he may have changed his mind because of this.
Pointer, if you're out there, let us know what's going on.
-
Does it make a good clan game, or is it like L4D and only supports 4 players?
-
Sorry I missed ya in TS last night. Normally when Tioga asks me to join, I stay away at all costs.
Anyways, I look forward to playing / talking with you. Feel free to log in to TS anytime, especially while Crysis'ing

If you want to recruit people to play a game with you, you may want to consider persuading us by saying more than "This game is really awesome."

don't bash ati eitherNo no, I like ATI. If it wasn't for ATI, my nvidia prices would be through the roof.
-
Ok so tessellation means less blocky ears and noses? Big whoop. Fuck ATI if that's all they've got over nvidia.

I have to agree with DMC, I am running the i7 940 at 3.52GHz and it kicks ass. I could go higher but I don´t have to
But maybe it kicks ass more because of the beefy video card than b/c of the expensive i7 processor? -
Yep, I wasn't actually considering buying any new processor right now, but I was just confused about why an old $100 Pentium EE was being called a core i7.
-
Yeah, they've definitely screwed up.
DMC and I have determined that this is not possible (see image below).
Unfortunately, they haven't corrected the error for weeks now.
