For those of you that have voted yes, can you agree that it is fair for an applicant to be required to receive a considerable amount more yes's than no's in order to join? In other words, does it make sense that we cannot allow someone to join even if they have 10 yes's and 5 no's?
You only need 2/3 of congress to override the presidents veto, but you need more to get in as a trial member. 8O

Personally, I don't think changing the rules on someone to restrict their admittance is fair, but that's my opinion, i am not an administrator and i realize decisions as such are difficult for you guys, and i know you guys are just trying to keep everyone happy and do what you think is best, but i don't agree with it. That's the privilege we all have as non admins.
I thought putting tioga as a trial member(if he got the votes) and evaluating him as such would have been a great idea considering his past history it would have given members and himself the opportunity to prove he was or was not worthy of the full tag.
Being a trial member anywhere gives the admins the ability to kick someone for being an "imp".

I don't see why its so hard to say No or Yes and give a reason like an adult.

That sounds like a good idea to me. Can someone tell how the trial thing works?
UPDATE: We've decided that any applicant who receives the required amount of votes will be accepted to join OSF as usual, except they will use the tag "=nOSF=" signifying that they're a New Old School Fighter. After a period of one month, if we receive no complaints and we feel as though the new member is doing a good job of representing OSF, they may use the regular tag.
I said it before and ill say it again....If peeps take the time to vote NO..then that should be taken very seriously, if not more then a easy to make YES vote.
I agree with this to an extent you also have to look at why they are voting no. I think explanations for votes would be nice as it would help others decide one way or the other.
And as you said V "majority rules"...but in a election you have to still win by a margin....in this case its 10 clear votes in favour..no cluster fuck.....just simple.
I don't like the winning by a margin idea, to quote a horrible movie and a bi-curious bald guy "Whether you win by an inch or a mile a win is a win." (maybe that doesn't help my point lol)
but like i said my opinion doesn't really matter in the end it's you guys who will decide.

well the "energy barn" allows a capturable building in which you can hold a point.
if not the proto roof would become overpowered or atleast that's the way we saw it when we decided to do it, because there could be very little cover for the energy site.
The barn has upper and lower levels much like the war factory. It also allows a more even battleground from the proto roof to the old war fac area. and from d3 to that area. Of course you can never really tell how something will play until you actually play it, so you could very well be right.
