• I think that might mean you're running low on refrigerant. If the machine doesn't have an automatic shutoff if it runs too low, you can risk damage to the point of complete failure.

    If it has been doing that for a long time, chances are that the refrigerant isn't leaking out. If this is the case, just crank up the fan speed to circulate more air through the cold coil. If this happens with the fan speed all the way up, you might have a clogged filter.

    This is assuming home a/c units are the same as automotive units (which I'm sure they are).

    Solution B is to quit being a pussy and open the windows!
