That forum has been there for months, I had no clue anything was wrong with it. If anything is ever wrong feel free to leave a message in the shoutbox or PM me, use the bug report thread, whatever; don't just leave me in the dark thanks.

Checking logs isn't incredibly hard of course it does take some experience to determine whether something is a cheat or isn't. The best way for you to learn would be to looks through the latest bans.txt pick out recently banned GUIDs and investigate why I banned them (the reason won't usually tell you). I banned 2 AUF players using a similar logic, both were some port of teleportation or speed hack, if you can figure out my logic behind this ban you can have a cookie (I don't wan't you to concentrate on this). This will help you determine how the server records location, use coords in conjunction with time obviously 300m/min is a bit ridiculous. The biggest step is not learning how to read the logs as much as finding out where the player's cheat is logged and how to locate it. Use phrases, for example search illegal weapons in logs that log cargo/items, such as KSVK or Saiga.

If you take the time to teach your self instead of getting frustrated with me not teaching you, my advice on whether you incorrectly banned someone will not be needed.

Yes this is an official server, no admins cannot make you dance, spawn items or vehicles, kill you, spectate you (on this server), teleport you or them selves, or use god mode. Thanks for the feedback :).

Sorry Kwint but you got a script or something executed on you by a cheater! A couple of other guys also reported this to me through Steam, also a cheater by the name of Freddy Kruger spawning ammo boxes for players. Unfortunatly we are not on the DayZ server much these dayz to see whats going on and rely on you guys to report these things.

Also you should of created a new topic for this as it will attract more attention.

Also can you tell us if your happy with the time of day by voting in the poll thread or leaving a comment.

    Thanks

I regularly check logs, please let me know next time! Needless to say those SV7 cunts have been banned for 3 days, so it's not like you had to tell me, but it;s still nice. Unfortunately my time is limited and it would be nice if I wasn't the only one checking the logs (this isn't directed at you Arb, it's at everyone).

P.s. it's not that hard you will learn, if you are unsure you can always post the log bit in the cheat reporting section (that's what it's there for).

I have to admit that the timezone change is mainly made for westerners and people that play late into the night, as most of this clan is and does. I think that it's only fair that we reach a compromise on a timezone, or if enough people want to just set it back to GMT +1. You are more than welcome to make a list of players that want things changed (so not everyone has to register), and post what they have to say here, please give in game names.

    Thanks.

I wouldn't really want guests to be allowed to vote, because who knows if those people even play DayZ, let alone on our server. Anywho the problem is fixed (kind of), it's an issue with the pop-up registration, so now you are brought to an ugly un-styled registration page, but it works. :)
Tested, registration process works fine. Issues like this should not be burred in a thread about the DayZ server though, there's a thread specifically for this is general discussion.

Thanks comrade I can view all the page now, resolution is a bit small with pinch zoom it's not a problem.

I can't really control how your device displays the page without making a mobile template, every device will display differently. While I can make it look "correct" I can't really set it to be automatically zoomed in on mobile devices.

P.s. The menu may be offset if viewing using a small resolution.

Luckily I have a tablet that I could test with, it is due to the small resolution of some tablet screens, it should be better now but I will fix it soon. It is an issue with a template update that altered the structure, if you resize your browser to a small resolution it does the same thing.

If it's a simple fix it could be done today, if not it may take a day or two.

I was just searching for data on a string that if can be banned or not, this guys ban is not relevant due to the log

    07.09.2012 17:34:28: =OSF=icomrade (192.168.1.148:2304) ThisIsWhereMyGuidWouldBe - #0 "HelicopterExploSmall" 3:29 0:0 [7320,2295,10] [0,0,0]

this happens when near a heli crash or when you crash a heli I have 3 dayz servers and I get this in the logs ALOT!
so banning for this is not relevant as of right now til they figure out a way to determine the differences.

Mind you if your server is a private hive you can kick and ban anyone you like whenever you like. I do not know this person nor and I defending them just letting you know from one server admin to another this is not a bannable reason.

I know that, the problem is he only showed up once in the remoteexec.log (the one you referenced above was me in a private server testing if this could ever happen).

Long story short, I never was able to reproduce the was his "crash" was logged. Although I have forgotten to post exactly how he was logged, so here are the log excerpts.

Remoteexec.log - Initially made me feel funny about this, it was only logged once, which is strange considering both "this" and "BIS_effects" at the time were logged the second was kicked for.

    Code
    03.09.2012 18:48:10: Giverr (IP IN HERE) GUIDBIT - #40 "[this] spawn BIS_Effects_AirDestruction"

Here are the only logs of him in createvehicle.log -- normally when a heli blows up a player is logged for "HelicopterExploSmall" and/or "HelicopterExploBig" in addition to "SmallSecondary"

    Code
    03.09.2012 13:27:20: Giverr (IP IN HERE) GUIDBIT - #0 "ParachuteWest" 52:801 [4542,2299,41]

    03.09.2012 18:50:40: Giverr (IP IN HERE) GUIDBIT - #0 "Sniper1_DZ" 122:4 [-18682,25925,376]

I appreciate your concern for quality in bans, not just on your own server.
P.s. in order to test this I had to set up a private hive on my own PC, with an exact copy of the .txt files for logging, it was and will never be open to the public. 1.7.2.X (I forget which one) made it so the server needs a database (hive) connection to be able to load players in.

Update: I was never able to reproduce this in terms of server side logging/ global events spawned by a player. Here are the results I got, Please note that Rocket_DZ is the player skin I assigned myself (because it looks bad ass), it was a private hive + local server, so don't think I was cheating. I also edited the default spawn gear so you spawn with a coyote pack (DZ_Backpack_EP1) + other gear, I also set the chopper's location to my location to save time. All was done by editing the local hive/DB I have.

The single explosions are when I crashed it into the ocean, for example the first Heli explosion, before I changed my skin to Rocket_DZ

    CreateVehicle.log

    RemoteExec.log

I will look into this using a local server, with an exact copy of the server settings. I will have more time tomorrow, and my local server has been broken since 1.7.2.5, it may take some time to get working again. Did you crash the heli over deep water or shallows near the shore?

The logs show various inconsistencies with your incident and every other legitimate helicopter crash that occurred on this server. Unless you can provide further proof of this situation actually occurring, or someone else confirming this situation with solid evidence, then you will remain banned. It would appear that you ejected out of a helicopter , or something else with a parachute involved, however you were able to play up to 5 hours later from the parachute being created/the ejection.

This ban will remain indefinitely, or until I can get something more solid than a story. If you would like an extremely technical explanation of why you will remain banned, then please feel free to ask for it; you have to understand that local bans are taken very seriously, by me at least.

    Thanks, icomrade.

Cya sharpie, I too have mostly lost interest in DayZ, as a mod that is. The hackers are what kill it for me, not the tent glitches or illegal weapons (without hackers they wouldn't be here anyway). Anyway, I hope we all have better luck in the standalone with ridiculous shit like this.

P.s. I have no idea why the server has been empty for the last couple days.
