Alpha 2.6 is close to going live. So far I can say that it is going to be a great step forward although the test version right now is pretty packed with bugs

The three biggest ships in Star Citizen: Idris, Javelin and Bengal. The latter will not be purchasable at all ingame (finders keepers).

If anyone is interested in the game feel free to ask me and/or enlist for free using the following link and it will give you additional 5000 ingame credits (worth $6):

In order to play the game you will need to buy a starter package for only $45 and you are done. For $60, the single player part is included (called Squadron 42)

CIG invited me to be part of a smaller group that has access to a pre-sale of the Polaris which is a sub-capital ship / corvette.

So OSF does now have a limited version of it which can be used as base of operations or for everything else presented in here:

Without knowing it, I took part of a ship review recording session so here you can watch some old school space dogfighting.
I show up at about 10:30min. It took a while to finally hit something but what you cannot see is that there was a 2nd guy attacking at the same time and I had to evade missiles constantly.

    Hello,

here is some raw Alpha 2.5 gameplay from me for those who have not seen anything about Star Citizen.
I am picking a mission to earn some money... The ship is one of the smallest but fastest.

How long do you want my answer to be?

First and most important: you do not have to buy any ships at all atm (except for a small starter package)! Once the game goes live you can purchase any ship with ingame currancy.
If you do buy a ship it will support the game developers in making it even more exiting.

Then the question is what is your main profession going to be?
The Freelancer is more like an everyday use ship with space for some cargo, medium armor and weaponry. It is NOT a fighter but more a support ship for mercenaries and is able to be used for multicrew purposes. I personally would go for the Cutlass in that case. BTW check the lastest alpha 3.0 gameplay video from gamescom to see a freelancer in action.

The Sabre is a pure fighter. It is very fast and can be equipped with 4 pretty nasty size 3 guns. But it has to suit your play style which means it is perfect if you play like a ninja: get in quick, strike hard and get out. Avoid getting hit because once the shields are gone it is very fragile. I love my Sabre but I also own a Super Hornet (2-seater) which is also a pure fighter but more a tanky one. It can take a lot more hits like the Sabre (1-seater) but is slower.

My other ships are for multicrew purposes (Constellation Andromeda), mining (Prospector), exploring (Terrapin), cargo & versatile (Caterpillar), close support (Dragonfly and P-52 Merlin).

Feel free to ask what you want to do ingame and I can give u an advice.

Here is what you can expect from Alpha 3.0

Evil has the bed and I have the toilet... :lolno:

For those who are not yet into Star Citizen: you do not have to buy a ship to get access to the game. I think the smallest package is about 30 bucks.

With the latest 2.1 alpha version I made a quick video from my hangar:

(Sorry for the desktop views I am no youtube wizkid and shadow play does not work ingame)

    Hello everyone,

has anyone installed the latest Star Citizen Alpha Version yet?
Since the launch of the game is getting closer I wanted to start a post concerning the OSF fleet

Personally, my hangar contains a "Constellation Andromeda" which is a multi crew (5 players) and multi purpose ship with a tendency towards a use in combat since it lacks cargo room for more weaponry. It comes with a small P-52 one seat fighter as an additional defense ship.

So I need up to 4 more volunteers to make this thing old school worthy.

I only bought battlefront b/c I am a SW fanboy since I was a kid. The graphics are excellent (using GTX 980 TI), audio as well and you can play Boba Fett among all other heros, fly X-Wings and Tie Fighters and so forth. Apart from that it is a very simple shooter game, easy to learn, kinda arena style but with beautiful maps. Not even close to Battlefield 4 in terms of gameplay "complexity".
If you are not interested in Star Wars at all you should not buy it.
