    maybe if i got a new wallpaper i'd feel motivated to clear some of these fuckin icons off of it

    Get a program called fences. It helps you organize your icons but the feature that I really like and actually use is one that when you double click on the desktop, it hides all the icons, then when you double click on it again, it brings the icons back up. It gives things a much cleaner look.
